I had a little revelation (if there is such thing as a little revelation) that stemmed from the title of the wildly popular book turned movie "He's just not that into you". If you haven't seen the movie or read the book, it's basically based on the fact that in today's world and culture women are often far more attached or "into" men than the men are "into" the women.
My revelation was that God IS that into us, He is far more into us that we can imagine because He loves us deeply. He doesn't only love those who love Him in return (although this is the preferred route) He loves each and every one of us before we ever loved Him. He loved us before we were ever even conceived (Jeremiah 1:5). He loves us so much that before we were born He knew we would become sinners and turn our backs on Him, He still chose to send us His only Son (who was and is perfect) to die for us that we might be able to have a relationship with Him. I don't know how you can be much more "into" anything that you would send your only Son to die for a bunch of largely ungrateful sinners.
His love is so intense, it doesn't get any more amazing or perfect than the love of the Father, and He created love after all so I'm pretty sure He is the best at it. Who could love you more than the one who created love itself?? We were created in His image, like an artist loves and is pleased by their work even when no one else does that is the same way Jesus loves us. He loves us when we are at our very lowest, darkest, most weak moment, and He doesn't just love us, He loves us completely all the time! The King of the entire universe grieves when we are broken or lost, if any king or leader felt that intimately about any of us it would be pretty intense but we are talking about not just any king but The King and He feels like that about you
The movie/book portrays how 99.9% of guys just aren't as into the woman as the woman feels they are. It talks about love (the imperfect earthly kind), romance, and all the amazing stories of people finding their happy endings and describes them as the exception. They don't just describe the situation or the story as the exception but the actual person is the exception. In the world this is fairly true; most of us have little to no hope of finding that fairy tale romance we all dream of as children which means the few that have those stories to tell really are the exception not the rule. I don't know about you but I really want to find that life-long, heart stopping, intense, take your breath away, never want to fall asleep kind of love. It's called Christ-like love and you find it in your Creator, I fell that kind of in love with Him! The world has no clue what real love looks like so we just continue to search for meaningless romantic highs and when we are bored or things get difficult, when all the fun and excitement is over we give up, move on, and find a new person to get us high again.
The Lord and His love are not the exception though, and we are not the exception to his rule either. His rule is simple: Love every single one of His children, there never has or will be anyone who loves you more deeply and honestly than your Creator. The crazy part is that He seriously knows every horrible thing you have ever done or will do, He knows all your annoying habits, and quirks and He doesn't find you annoying or unworthy. He actually is still more "into" loving your soul than anyone, talk about amazing!
